“Right now the need for connection, understanding and standing up against hate has never felt more urgent,” says Empathy Lab as it launches a set of free resources to help teachers, parents and other educators to grow an empathy-educated generation. You’ll find the resources at www.empathylab.uk/don-t-hate—educate
At the heart of the campaign is the charity’s free Read for Empathy guides which feature 65 contemporary books for young people aged 3-16. These books are selected by expert judges for their empathy-building power, and I’m delighted that my poetry collection You Are Not Alone – packed with poems exploring young people’s mental heath and emotional wellbeing – is one of them.
You can find out more about all of the books in the collection at www.empathylab.uk/RFE. They’re all available buy or order from local indie bookshops and other retailers – in store or via bookshop.org.
